Pal dei Dogi artworks

A special memory of Venice

Discover our works of art.

Water, wood, and glass: these are the three elements that have always characterized Venice and that, in Pal dei Dogi, blend together to create new and surprising works of art. Unique artworks that encapsulate the purest soul of Venice.

The titles of the works evoke some of the most renowned historical Venetian boats that existed during the Republic of the Serenissima, which then, as now, followed the path indicated by the Venetian mooring posts.

The Briccole

True soul of Venice.

Venice was born and lives on water, and the briccole are an essential element to maintain this extraordinary and fragile balance. These are poles made of mountain wood, strong and secure, semi-submerged in the canals of Venice, fundamental for indicating the route to sailors and ensuring order in the lagoon’s waters.
And so, now as then, the briccola has always been one of the most characteristic elements of the lagoon landscape, a true witness to the passage of time, tides, and Venetian life, retaining within its wood the pure magic of Venice.

Fascinating signs of time

Unique imperfections.

Over time, the continuous passage of boats and ships inevitably wears down the wood, which changes each time in an absolutely unique way. Added to this are the teredines, mollusks that feed on wood, which weaken these poles to the point of needing to be replaced to ensure the safety of sailors.

And so, the Venetian Briccole can take on a new guise, that of works of art.

Sliced into multiple parts, each veneer of the briccola is unique and rare and is selected based on its artistic impact: the teredines, in fact, work the wood by decorating it with circular tunnels and unexpected shapes, which naturally certify the uniqueness of the Venetian work.

Silent witness of Venetian life.
